AMY M. CURRIN, ESQ
Amy Currin has been practicing law since 1990. After graduating from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, she practiced for 8 years with a large firm renowned for its expertise in sophisticated real estate, tax and business matters, focusing in tax planning and controversies and affordable housing development. Following her move to Eastern North Carolina, Amy added business entities and transactions, contracts, business bankruptcy and workouts, and real estate to her ongoing
work in tax and affordable housing.

Amy has held an AV Rating (the highest possible rating) from Martindale Hubbell for over fifteen years.
Prior to practicing law, Amy was a trust officer with Bank One Trust Company in Columbus, Ohio; at the time, she was the youngest officer to date at the 9,000 employee bank.
Amy is a member of MENSA.
Amy is the past chair of the American Bar Association’s Affordable Housing Subcommittee of the Section of Taxation. In that capacity, she co-published an article entitled Taking Credit – State Tax Credits in Real Estate Development Partnerships (4 J. Passthrough Entities 23 (2001)).
In 1974, Amy was the winner of the Devonshire Elementary School Spelling Bee, her proudest accomplishment to date.
PERSONAL
Amy has been married to Rodney Currin, a retired attorney with over 40 years of experience, since 2009. Rodney’s three adult children and six grandchildren give them plenty of excuses to travel regularly to Charlotte and Wilmington, and their de facto daughter provides them with justification for even more New York trips than they would otherwise take. A theatre aficionado, Amy has performed in a number of local community theatre musicals in the last several years, and serves on the Board of Directors of the New Bern Civic Theatre. Aside from husband, family, friends and theatre, Amy’s other major obsessions are reading, Key West, yoga, and ice cream.
